James Charisma

Contributor to HONOLULU Magazine

James Charisma is a frequent contributor to HONOLULU Magazine; director of Charisma Industries, a local creative agency; and associate publisher of Abstract Magazine, an award-winning collectible print publication for Hawai’i. A transplant from Manhattan living in Honolulu, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawai‘i-Mānoa, with a focus in clinical psychology, criminology, and psychopathology. Recently, he’s turned his attention more on city life, arts and culture, and, of course, enjoying as much food as he can. His work has been featured in most local publications as well as nationally, in PlayboyPasteThrillistInverse and Knockout, among others. He is also a DJ at KTUH 90.1 FM Honolulu Wednesday afternoons, playing 20th century pop music.
