HONOLULU Magazine Wins Several Awards, Both Local and National

HONOLULU Magazine was named a finalist in two CRMA categories and wins big at Hawaiʻi’s SPJ Awards.

Every so often, we at HONOLULU Magazine like to take a small break to give ourselves a little pat on the back. In early June, HONOLULU took home two finalist awards at the 2018 City and Regional Magazine Association Awards in New Orleans. (Think of it as our version of the Oscars.)

 

Competing against other magazines in the nation with a circulation of less than 60,000, HONOLULU was named a finalist in feature design for our October 2017 spread “Drink Local.” (Shout out to art director Louis Scheer for his amazing work.) We also were recognized as a finalist in multiplatform storytelling for “A Snail’s Tail.

 

HONOLULU continued its streak at the Society of Professional Journalists Hawaiʻi Chapter’s annual Excellence in Journalism Awards on June 29. We took home 22 plaques in the following categories:
