Poke your way, market price
If you’ve been to Foodland Farms’ create-your-own poke bowl station, this concept is similar. Each order comes with 3 pounds of poke — your choice of fresh ahi, tako or shrimp. Then comes the fun part: Dress up your poke any way you want by adding on ingredients like ogo, toasted sesame seeds, green onions, furikake, Sriracha and oyster sauce. Choices are unlimited — sauces and toppings don’t cost any extra.
Musubi sampler, $17.99
This sampler of 12 handmade triangle musubis will steal the show at any potluck. Mix and match to your heart’s content: Go with the classic Spam musubi or pick from konbu, salmon wakame, char siu, ume shiso and tuna mayo. Our faves: Tuna mayo and salmon wakame with its soft, briny hijiki crunch.
Chinese bao buns, $29.99
Pork belly with spicy miso Awe-Ssam sauce, pulehu chicken with Thai peanut sauce, or grilled shrimp with sweet chili sauce: Choose any or all that you want. This platter features 12 steamed and stuffed buns garnished with pickled vegetables and scallions. We recommend getting all three flavors.
Note: Thai peanut sauce comes in a separate container to keep the chicken bao buns from getting soggy. Drizzle on top before serving.
Hawaiian-style poi beef stew, $32.99
You won’t find this beef stew at any plate lunch spot. This stew of tender, slow-braised beef with hearty chunks of carrots, potatoes and celery is bathed in a lightly spiced chili pepper-infused gravy thickened with sour poi. Bonus: There are plenty of taro to sink your teeth in, too. So ono and comforting during the cool holiday season.
Mix-and-match ice cream sandwiches, $29.99
No potluck is complete without dessert, and seriously, when was the last time you saw ice cream sandwiches at a potluck? Customize your six-pack with choices of Kona coffee ice cream with chocolate chip cookies, green tea ice cream with sesame cookies, birthday cake ice cream with rainbow sprinkles cookies, cookies and cream ice cream with chocolate chip cookies, pineapple coconut ice cream with macadamia nut cookies, or chocolate chip mint ice cream with double chocolate cookies. Or just get one of each!
Note: Some prices and availability of items like poke are subject to change.
