You Can Help All of Hawai‘i When You Make a Purchase at a Hawai‘i Restaurant
(Sponsored) First Hawaiian Bank will make donations up to $1 million to the Aloha for Hawai‘i fund when you order takeout with your FHB card.
T
he goal is one million — one million takeout meals or delivery purchases at Hawai‘i restaurants.
First Hawaiian Bank’s Aloha for Hawai‘i campaign helps support all of Hawai‘i. Every time you use your First Hawaiian Bank credit or debit card to buy a takeout meal at any Hawai‘i restaurant — whether you pick it up yourself or order it through a delivery service like Uber Eats or DoorDash — First Hawaiian Bank will make a donation to the Aloha for Hawai‘i fund. This fund supports nine non-profit organizations, including Aloha Harvest, Blood Bank of Hawai‘i, Child & Family Service, Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels, Hawai‘i Foodbank, The Food Basket, Kauai Independent Food Bank, Maui Food Bank or The Pantry. The goal is to generate one million transactions and up to $1 million for the fund. You can read more about the campaign at fhb.com/aloha.
Not only are you getting delicious meals, but you’re also helping your fave restaurants. Some have had to close during Hawai‘i’s emergency quarantine order, but many are still open and doing their best to keep us fed and keep people working. For these, takeout has become their lifeline. Numerous restaurants are posting their menus and specials on Instagram, and some are offering more than meals. For example, MW Restaurant has individual and family meals plus a market pantry featuring fresh produce from local farmers. Restaurant XO offers frozen bulk family meal packs, a dessert table with fresh baked goods from bakers who’ve been furloughed, and even cloth face masks. StripSteak Waikiki has innovative family meals with their signature steaks, as well as DIY cocktail kits. Restaurants like Pagoda Hawaii and Butcher & Bird are offering meat bundles, while others like Duck Butt Grill and Side Street Inn have multicourse family meal packs. Your business will help all these restaurants and many more like them. You can also support the campaign on social media by using the #alohaforhawaii on any photos of takeout meals.
The best part is that you can order from ANY Hawai‘i restaurant, and that’s it. You don’t have to post a photo or send in a receipt. The bank will automatically make a donation to the Aloha for Hawai‘i Fund for every takeout or delivery purchase made at a Hawai‘i restaurant, and it will keep going until we’ve collectively ordered one million meals and generated $1 million for charity. First Hawaiian Bank just completed its first donation of $50,000 to Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels.
So put your next takeout order on your First Hawaiian Bank credit or debit card. You’re eating well and supporting Hawai‘i!
