It’s that time of the year again — the sold-out annual Le Diner en Blanc is returning to Honolulu and celebrating its fifth anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 1. A leading social event in Paris for the past 30 years, Le Diner en Blanc is an elegant, all-white picnic event featuring fine wines, food and dazzling entertainment.

In celebration of this year’s sustainability theme, Le Diner en Blanc has partnered with Sustainable Coastlines to showcase a one-of-a-kind sculpture created entirely from white ocean debris and designed by multi-media artist Aurora Robson.

Staying true to tradition, the event will be at a secret location with breathtaking scenery. Attendees are expected to follow Le Diner en Blanc’s fundamental rules:

Once confirmed, each guest’s participation is mandatory (this is a rain-or-shine event)
Dress code: Head to toe in elegant, white-only attire
Have an all-white table setting
Guests must meet at assigned departure locations and are escorted by a Le Diner en Blanc volunteer to ensure the location is kept a secret
Guests must leave the event location as clean as it was when they arrived — all belongings, leftovers and litter must be taken care of

Win a Pair of Seats to Le Diner en Blanc – Honolulu

We’re giving away one pair (2) of seats to one lucky Frolic Hawaii reader! The giveaway includes:

Two (2) seats to the sold-out event, departing from Kahala
One (1) floral arrangement from J’Adore Floral Designs: A 3” bubble vase with seasonal white and green floral such as Green Trick Flowers, White Alstroemerias, and accented with greenery
One (1) bottle of Taittinger Brut La Francaise Champagne: Pale gold in color and persistent with bubbles its taste is delicate with aromas of peach, white flowers, vanilla pod, and brioche.
One (1) Tsar Nicoulai Caviar – 1 oz Estate Blend: With a rich and clean taste, this deep brown to jet black medium sized bead has a creamy finish.

The winner will need to follow Le Diner en Blanc guidelines, including wearing all white (no off-white allowed). The winner will also need to provide the following:

A table, two white chairs, white tablecloth
A picnic basket comprising fine food, proper stemware and white dinnerware
Champagne and/or wine. Beer and hard liquor are prohibited
Note: A catered picnic basket prepared by the Hawaii Convention Center’s Chef Kevin Nakata can be picked up on site and is available for those who do not wish to pack their own. Guests wanting this catered basket must reserve one online through the Le Diner en Blanc e-store.
