Who’s coming: Eat the Street Philippines
This month’s Eat the Street celebrates food from the Philippines, with food trucks and vendors creating fabulous Filipino fare, including takes on the much-loved lumpia.
As part of this theme, Eat the Street also will be raising funds for victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Cash donations will be collected at each booth/truck and sent to the Philippines through Waves for Water, a charitable organization focused on bringing clean water to people in need around the world.
Also at this month’s ETS, the wildly popular Original Ramen Burger, courtesy of the man who made it famous, Keizo Shimamoto, makes an encore appearance in Honolulu. When Shimamoto brought his ramen burger to Kaka‘ako’s Taste earlier this month, the line wrapped around the block. For Friday’s Eat the Street, only the Original Ramen Burger will be sold for $10 (maximum two per person).
