What I found at Target: Museum of Ice Cream pints
Do these $6.49 pints live up to MOIC's incredible hype?

What I found at … is a series that tests and vets intriguing store-bought foodie finds. It’s the mainland and global parallel to KaSnack attack!, our series reviewing made-in-Hawaii snacks.
What: Museum of Ice Cream ice cream
Where: Ice cream section at Target
Cost: $6.49 a pint
Q: Do these pints live up to the hype of the wildly popular Museum of Ice Cream?
I would fly to San Francisco for the Museum of Ice Cream. I tried, but online reservations for the interactive, sample-filled sweet displays were so booked that all I could get was a late-night slot in February. Then in May came the unbelievable announcement of a Museum of Ice Cream and Target ice cream partnership. Starting in July, Target would sell MOIC’s Chocolate Crush, Cherrylicious, Churro Churro, Nana Banana, Vanillionaire, Pinata and Sprinkle Pool. And the first five flavors are brand new!
I scoured Target’s freezer section and obsessively called the different locations, with no luck. Sometimes they were sold out of EVERY flavor and the word was it would take two weeks to restock. Finally, during the last weekend in July, I casually walked by the freezer section and my heart almost stopped.

I immediately texted my friend Brandon Lee, a chef and fellow ice cream fanatic, and we did a highly unscientific taste test to see which flavors stacked up to the hype. Watch the video for the complete results.

A: Yes and no (details are in the video):
