Although we missed the big annual summer sale by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i, now we can buy books year-round from the nonprofit’s new permanent home: an 11,747-square-foot warehouse near Dole Cannery.

  • Purchase donated books, media, manga, puzzles and artwork online for pickup.
  • Donate items Tuesday through Thursday by appointment, which can be scheduled online.
  • The Friends of the Library’s new home cost $2.8 million. In January, the organization reported that it has less than $1 million to go to pay it off, thanks to grants and donations.
  • The McKinley High School summer sale is postponed until 2022, but a temporary bookstore is open through early June at Ward Village and needs volunteers.
