Nonstop Kaka‘ako: Time to shop!

Frolic Hawai‘i,

As part of Saturday’s Nonstop Kaka‘ako, several retailers will be setting up shop, selling everything from bikinis to bracelets. They’ll also be vendors offering various beauty services.

Nonstop Kaka‘ako is a one-night pop-up food, retail and entertainment experience with entertainment on two stages by Anuhea, Yoza, Kainalu and Lost at Sea, as well as 40 food booths from Best of Nonstop Honolulu nominees, food trucks from Eat
the Street and others. Other attractions: a beer garden, a women’s lounge, Live UH football vs. New Mexico State and a Women’s Lounge (with a Beauty Bar, martini and sweets bar, DJ and scent bar by Chai Studio).

When: Saturday, Oct. 22 from 4 p.m. to midnight
Where: Coral, Keawe and Auahi streets
Admission: Free

We’ll also be offering a “shopping valet,” a safe spot for you to stash your purchases while you check out the rest of the street fest.

Bliss Online Boutique

Bliss Online Boutique was started in 2009 in Honolulu, by Wendy Chang, who wanted to bring affordable and easily accessible boutique fashions to busy women. C4 Waterman

C4 is a stand-up paddle company that sells paddles, boards and much more. During Nonstop Kaka‘ako, C4 will be holding a sidewalk sale at its Coral Street store. It’ll also be showing surf videos and hosting an Interactive Surf Game.

Cassandra Rull

CHAI Studio

CHAI Studio, located in the heart of Kaka‘ako, sells all types of handmade things — bedding, pillows, throws, bangles, glassware, chandelier earrings, tunics, furniture from reclaimed materials, poufs and rustic furniture repurposed from its original use. There’s also a body bar to create your signature scent. At Nonstop Kaka‘ako, CHAI will be setting up a scent bar and offering coupons to get a discount at the shop that night.

Color Cuts

Color Cuts is a hair salon that specializes in hair cuts and hair color. At Nonstop Kaka‘ako, Color Cuts will be part of the Beauty Bar.

Cottage by the Sea

Founded in 2003, Cottage by the Sea was created to bring together jewelry, gifts and home decor in a cottage-style boutique setting. From flea markets and estate sales, the fixtures and furniture pieces have become some of Cottage by the Sea’s main attractions. The store also sells jewelry with inspirational messages, clothes, stationery and books.

Eden In Love

Eden in Love is the newest division of The Wedding Cafe, a wedding resource center. Owners Tanna and Bryson Dang now help brides and others find the savviest clothes and accessories for everyday wear through the boutique.

Fashionista’s Market

Opened in 2009, this Chinatown boutique sells designer brands at a discount, as well as locally designed clothing and jewelry. They receive new inventory every week — everything for work and play. Every First Friday, they host an event, featuring designer trunk shows, food tastings, cocktails and more.

Genuine Guava

Owner Kawehi “Guava” Kuhau was born and raised in Hawaii. Her obsession for unique bags began at Kamehameha Schools, where she would deconstruct old clothes and decorate tote bags using tools like spray paint and iron-on patches. She’s evolved since then, now designing one-of-a-kind bags from recycled vintage textiles and making them available to the “go-green” individualist in us all.

House of Aria

House of Aria began as a pop-up shop in 2009, hosting private shopping events and participating in ladies nights at local bars and clubs around Honolulu. In 2010, a store was opened in Pearl City, allowing women in the Leeward area to find the perfect outfit for almost any occasion without commuting into town. The shop sells clothes, handbags and accessories from designers in Los Angeles, New York and Hawaii.

Kaimana Beachwear

Kentajes

Matsukawa Healing Center

The Matsukawa Healing Center, which has been in business since 1979, offers massage therapy and chiropractic healing, using both traditional and unique methods of healing. At Nonstop Kaka‘ako, they’ll be offering reflexology and mini chiropractic consultations.

Mikinola

After eights years of working at several local boutiques, styling clients and working with well-known local designers, owner and stylist Dara Fujio decided to start Mikinola, an online women’s boutique.

Mojo Barbershop
