Somebody, Turn Me In

Last week, the White House sent out a call to all patriotic Americans to e-mail it the names of anyone opposing Pres. Obama’s plans for health care reform.

“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care,” wrote White House director of new media, Macon Phillips. “These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain e-mails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an e-mail or see something on the Web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

Since “disinformation” and “fishy” seems to mean, “anything that questions our blanket assertions that we can offer more coverage, to more people, while spending less money, without rationing, through a bill we’re ramming through Congress so fast, they won’t even have time to read it” …well, I can only stand up and say—it was me. I wrote criticisms of health care reform. I published them here, under my own name, on this very blog.

The links to my critiques are here and here. Oh, and here.

Obviously, one of you loyal American readers will have to turn me in. That e-mail again is flag@whitehouse.gov.

I’d do it myself but, while the current White House may view my efforts as un-American, I’d hate for it to think I’m a narcissist, too.
