Save the date: Cyclovia, Hele On Kaka`ako


Come on out on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 12), from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for Hele On Kaka`ako. Along with many family-friendly activities, the event will feature an international movement called Cyclovia and also a first-time Complete Street Demonstration Project on Cooke Street.

The event includes a 5K run, a Mother’s Day brunch at Taste, live music, bicycle education courses, pop-up shopping at Pinch of Salt, dance classes, aerobics and much more to promote healthy living and sustainability. For more information visit CycleOnHawaii.org

Cyclovia originated in Bogota, Columbia in 1974 and has become a global event to promote bicyclists’ and pedestrians’ rights and responsibilities and healthy living. It’s a day, typically on a Sunday, where people on bikes, skates or just on their feet can take over the streets.

Where: From Mother Waldron Park to Kaka`ako Waterfront. Free parking on South & Pohukaina Street Lot and Waterfront Plaza. Bike parking will also be available throughout the event.
