Raising Cane’s first Hawaii location now open near UH-Manoa

Chicken fingers, crinkle fries, Texas toast and sweet tea near Hawaii's biggest campus
Raising Cane's core specialties are chicken fingers, crinkle fries, Texas toast and sweet tea

Raising Cane’s, the chain from Louisiana known for its consistently good chicken fingers and crinkle-cut fries, opened to long lines and screaming fans at the corner of University Avenue and King Street. The hype for this opening was strong when it was announced earlier this year and it is only the beginning as the chain plans rapid expansion with 10 more locations for the state in coming years. The first is ideal for the nearby college crowd since prices are fair and the portions generous (most meals are under $10)

When Kelli Shiroma and I heard about the opening, we knew we had to be there to capture the excitement and have our first taste of the supposedly juicy fried chicken tenders and buttery-soft Texas toast. But after waiting for over an hour in the opening day line, did Raising Cane’s chicken fingers live up to our expectations or do they cluck up? Watch the video to find out.
