Night Market: Guide to food and fun

Honolulu Night Market has become the place to hit every month, with huge crowds congregating on the streets of Kaka‘ako for food, art, music, fashion, shopping and more. This Saturday’s event centers on music, with local bands performing on two stages throughout the night. We’ll see you there!

Here’s a rundown of the food retail, fashion and entertainment.
The food

ALOHA POPS: Creamy mango, chocolate peanut butter, watermelon, pineapple li hing, passion orange guava ice pops

BLUE TRUCK TEPPANYAKI: Yes, the blue truck that roams UH and other spots, with rib eye roll, yakisoba and lamb plate lunches

BONFIRE PIZZA: Fresh, gourmet sourdough pizzas that are thin-crust and cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven

DOLCITA: Elegant, hand-crafted cupcakes, cheesecakes, cookies and other little sweets, made small so you can try them all

HAWAII’S FRIED MUSUBI: Fried spicy bomb musubi, Hawaiian-style ahi, Classic Spam musubi — all with Mama’s fried chicken

IL GELATO: Sea-salted caramel, dark chocolate hazelnut and Tahitian vanilla gelato; raspberry and mango sorbet; affogato

ISLAND SANDWICH CREATIONS: New England clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, spicy garlic shrimp and shredded beef, ham and cheese and ground beef arepas

KOHNOTORI: Fresh-grilled yakitori and tako-filled okonomiyaki brought to you by the yakitori izakaya in Moiliili

LE CREPE CAFE: Calypso with bananas, shredded coconut, organic honey; Lambada with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, butter, brown sugar; All that Jazz with chicken breast, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, garlic, spinach

MOMO BURGER: R&B burger with specially created root beer bacon jam, gouda, fried onions and maybe bread-and-butter pickles; teri burger, bacon burger, garlic fries; all burgers made with 100 percent grass-fed Big Island beef

SWEET REVENGE: The Elvis — banana bread pudding with bananas, peanut butter, bacon and maple syrup; chicken pot pie, shepherd’s pie, fresh mango pie, chocolate haupia pie, black bottom banana cream pie and (no promises) cronuts?

Smoke at CoXist (A monthly event at 331 Keawe St., with sophisticated, alternative music by the Honolulu DJs from Kitchen Music Society. CoXist will host works by local painter and visual artist Osta Lange. Outside CoXist, in a roped-off area, cigars and full hookah service will be available.)
