Remember when Girls’ Day was celebrated with mochi? Things have morphed in Hawai‘i nei, and the Japanese tradition of giving sweets to girls on March 3 is all-encompassing. There’s mochi, of course, in spring colors of pink, green and white. But now, if you’re so inclined, you can celebrate with cookies, cupcakes, chocolates and even chirashi sushi.
