Supporting local has never been so delicious or easy. Localicious Hawaii 2019 kicked off on March 1 with more than 260 participating restaurants.

Here’s how it works: All through March restaurants are selling Localicious dishes, identified on menus with the Localicious logo, featuring ingredients from Hawaii’s farmers, ranchers and fishermen. Every time you order a Localicious dish at a participating restaurant, the business donates $1 toward the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation’s K-12 agricultural education programs in public schools.

Kakaako’s Honolulu Beerworks is known for delicious craft beer brewed on site and a casual vibe in its converted-warehouse locale. The neighborhood pub uses locally sourced and imported ingredients in hand-crafted beers like Point Panic Pale Ale, South Shore Stout and Pia Mahiai Honey Citrus Saison. With communal bench seating, two beer gardens and local artwork, Honolulu Beerworks’ décor showcases Kakaako’s hip, rustic charm.

The food menu has dishes designed to pair perfectly with the pub’s beer: Italian hoagies and pastrami reubens at lunch, and Bavarian soft pretzels, Carolina pulled pork sliders, Beermade mac & cheese and more at dinner. The featured Localicious dish is ‘Gettin Piggy With It,’ a savory medley of tender Cuban-style roasted Pono Pork, Monterey Jack cheese, housemade creamy aji amarillo sauce, sweet and tangy pickled red onions and micro cilantro stacked on a flatbread.
