H
ave you exhausted the movie selections on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime or Disney+? The Hawaii International Film Festival has something better.
HIFF new virtual initiative HIFF@HOME launched this month with a curated selection of short films you can watch online for free. All have screened at HIFF festivals and there are award-winning shorts produced here in Hawaii.
HIFF has postponed its scheduled events until summer. With other film festivals cancelled worldwide, the local film festival came up with HIFF@HOME to build community through cinema while supporting local artists. Check out the HIFF website for the selection of short films you can screen for free. In coming weeks there will be even more short films to view online.
And stay tuned for a new spin on dinner and a movie — HIFF will encourage movie lovers to support local businesses by highlighting takeout menu offerings of local restaurants in “Dinner and a Movie” nights on its social channels.
