“This photo was taken 10 years ago, way before the GoPro and drone era. It was hard to get these kind of moments—I used to hang my DSLR camera inside a big piece of foam from my paraglider canopy and triggered the camera from a radio remote control.
The idea behind this photo was to show the vast blue planet that surrounds us and the human scale from a vantage point. This is the blue planet I see everyday. This image was taken above the waters of Makapuʻu.”
