HFWF 14: 12 things we loved at Corks & Forks

rooftop-1

As expected, Saturday night’s Hawai‘i Food and Wine Festival event, Hawaiian Airlines Presents Corks & Forks, brought out a great crowd, 20 notable chefs, highly rated Napa Valley wines and well-crafted dishes using local ingredients. The lineup of chefs included such local standouts as Ed Kenney, Alan Wong, George Mavrothalassitis and Chai Chaowasaree, with celeb chefs Christina Tosi, Ming Tsai, Hubert Keller, Jonathan Waxman and more.

Here are 12 things our Frolic team loved about the gathering:

One of the best items of the night was OnoPops’ “Hawaii meets baked Alaska” — a lilikoi ice cream pop made with Italian meringue, torched to order. They were so popular, they ran out well before the event ended. — Melissa Chang
