The latest Nielsen ratings out today reveal that CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0” was again the most played-back show last week, taking the top spot among timeshifting-savvy viewers for the second week in a row.

TiVos and other DVRs boosted the audience of the second episode of “Hawaii Five-0” by 3.32 million viewers to a total of 16.07 million, enough to give the show an additional 1.1 rating points in the ‘Adults 18-49’ demographic and push it into the Nielsen Top 10 among all network shows.

The same thing happened with the numbers released last week, when “Hawaii Five-0′ set an industry record for DVR viewers. The Washington Post declared it ‘the most DVR’d show of all time,’ and these latest figures solidify the show’s standing as the top show of the Fall 2010 TV season.

The so-called “Live+7” numbers combine the conventional measure of people who watch a show when it’s first broadcast along with the number of viewers who recorded it and watched it within seven days.

According to today’s numbers, nine of the top fifteen most played-back programs are CBS shows, all of them gaining at least two million viewers thanks to technology. Often dismissed as an old-school network with older viewers, the New York Times now says CBS is ‘a network on a roll.’

‘Hawaii Five-0’ returns tonight with ‘Nalowale.’ In addition to showcasing a smitten, shirtless Det. Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin), the episode features a much-anticipated guest stint by Masi Oka, best known as the time-traveling superhero on NBC’s ‘Heroes.’
