HASR Bistro now open for lunch

HASR Bistro, in the old Grand Cafe and Bakery space, is now open for lunch. HASR Bistro is owned by HASR Wine Co., with chef Rodney Uyehara, formerly of Beachhouse at the Moana, in the kitchen. While the menu was originally envisioned as French bistro, at the moment, it's more like the comfort foods of anywhere and everywhere. There's French onion soup and escargot, but there's also shrimp spring rolls, pierogi, a burger, cioppino, osso bucco and pasta, while desserts range from acai creme brûlée to banana bread pudding. Prices for lunch entrees are from $13 to $23.
Water is served in Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea mason jars, reaffirming the rustic-from-somewhere theme of the menu. Menus are mounted to wooden wine box lids, a fun touch.
HASR plans on dinner service in a month or so. I'll check in then for a more complete review.
