Glamour at the Crown

Glamour was in the air Thursday night at The Crown Bar and Nightclub at an event to raise awareness and funds for the Hawaii branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
Billy V. and Miss Hawaii USA 2014, Moani Hara hosted the event, with Hara sharing her personal journey with dyslexia. The evening included a silent and live auction, giveaways, mini massages, a photo booth and entertainment by singer-songwriter Johnna Pageken Parel.
Nonstop Honolulu’s Amanda Stevens produced and co-styled the show with Amy Azada, Maia designer Rupal Gohil, Paul Brown Hawaii and Team Motives Hawaii. There were two segments — Maia by Day featured glamorous resort wear for women, and the men’s looks included linen shirts with a hints of Hawaiian print strategically placed in the cuffs, collar or visible lining. The Maia by Night looks were dramatic and showcased looks that would be perfect as an evening dress or outdoor formal.
