Get 15 Percent Off Hy’s Steak House on Mahalo Mondays
(Sponsored) Plus, a peek at some of the fine dining restaurant’s new menu items.
Most of us would not consider Hy’s Steak House cheap eats. One of Waikīkī’s most celebrated restaurants, the 2020 Hale ‘Aina Bronze winner for Best Steak is all about fine dining, and it’s got the high-grade steaks, tableside Caesar salad and crumb sweepers to prove it. Hy’s has never been about fast-casual dining, and that’s why it’s been the restaurant of choice for anniversaries, birthdays or any date who’s really trying to impress.
If you’ve got a reason to celebration (or are just looking for a way to really impress), here’s a reason why you should do it at Hy’s: Every Monday, the restaurant will be offering 15% off all food and nonalcoholic drinks (alcohol is still full price, sorry!) for all kama‘āina diners. That includes its famous dry-aged, bone-in ribeye (my absolute favorite cut of steak), tableside-prepped Caesar salad and popular sides such as truffled king crab mac and cheese. Hy’s uses USDA Prime beef specialty house in all of its steaks, which are aged and trimmed on-site and grilled over Hawaiian kiawe wood to create that perfectly juicy charred steak that keeps guests coming back.
Pay a visit to Hy’s and you might notice the menu looks a bit different. That’s because the restaurant has added new menu items into its rotation, including two I’m extra excited about: Cornish hen, served with ali‘i mushrooms, spinach and a creamy Tuscan sauce (a great new option for guests who don’t feel like eating steaks), and kiawe-grilled pineapple flambé, made with grilled Dole pineapples, dark rum and cinnamon and served with a slice of lemon pound cake. Think of it as a ritzier version of a pineapple upside-down cake.
