Until Aug. 31, 100% of proceeds from sales of retail bread at all La Tour Café locations will go to the Hawai‘i Food Bank. You can also round up your purchase and the difference will go to the food bank. @latourcafe

La Bettola

The restaurant by Tsutomu Ochiai, one of Japan’s best-known Italian chefs, grand opens with an after-party and $10 raffle tickets benefiting 17 displaced families on Maui. “All the money from the opening party and the raffle” will go toward the wrestlers of Nakamura Wrestling, the restaurant DM’d in response to our query. All are 4 to 18 years old and being trained by Maui Police Lt. Grant Nakamura. The restaurant’s Instagram says the displaced wrestlers and their families have been camping on an open lot since the fire. The after-party is from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Alohilani Resort’s Lobby Bar in Waikīkī. @labettola808

Grace in Growlers

This craft beer tasting room in Kailua has been donating sales to individuals and families who survived Maui’s fires. On Sunday, all sales all day go to a man who waited as flames overtook Front Street to help kūpuna escape over the seawall. Then he helped people in the water, saving a 77-year-old by keeping her warm in the cold ocean for eight hours. @graceingrowlers

 

Mud Hen Water

The Citizens of Kaimuki Town Square, which include @localiahawaii, @thelocalgeneralstorehi, @fattoamanohi, @littlevesselsco, @mudhenwater and TOWN food&events are teaming up for a benefit dinner at Mud Hen Water.
