Europe tour: Nice, France

After Switzerland, we headed back to France, but this time to Nice with a small preview of Italy on the way.

Nice reminded me of a mini Paris. Since we really had nothing planned, we spent most of our time shopping along Avenue Jean Medecin, one of the main shopping areas in the city.

Nice is also right on the French Riviera, one of the most famous coastlines in the world. But the beaches aren’t like our beaches in Hawaii, because the sand felt more like gravel and the water was a lot more salty. Nice’s beaches also are known for topless tanning, so I saw my share.

Overall, we had great weather while we were there, and the food was decent. Since Nice is not far from the Italian border, we were able to taste a little bit of both French and Italian food. If I have to describe our time in Nice, I’d say it it was the most retail-infused, but therapeutic, part of the trip.

The famous French Riviera or Côte d’Azur. Despite its glamorous reputation, I prefer our beaches, because the sand felt like gravel.
