Storm Large will perform at Hawaii Theatre for one-night only on Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m. Her stop in Hawaii follows her first major album release with her band Le Bonheur in 2014. Her music reflects her unique vision of a genre-free world, collecting songs born of French theatrical chanson, jazz standard, heavy metal, smokehouse lounge, and a handful of original.

Storm broke out onto the national music scene in 2006 as a finalists on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova. This launched her career to tour the world, singing in 17 different languages, and only behaving herself somewhat, with the joyful little pop orchestra Pink Martini.

Ultimately, this route lead to her appearance on the stage of Carnegie Hall singing Kurt Weill with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Large’s award-winning one woman show, Crazy Enough, broke every box office record at Portland Center Stage in 2010. In 2012, she detailed her wild life in her self-titled memoir released through Simon and Schuster; the book was named Oprah’s Book of the Week and awarded the 2013 Oregon Book Award for creative non-fiction.

Recent engagements include her debut with The New York Pops Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, The Cincinnati Symphony, The Houston Symphony, and The RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin, among others. Storm continues to tour with Pink Martini, and is co-writing a new musical for The Public Theater in New York City.
