Eating is believing: Happy hour at Bevy
$1.50 oysters and $6 craft cocktails, plus deals 'til 7 p.m. are a Kakaako steal

The deets
Bevy is well known as the cocktail-focused bar inspired by the Prohibition era and speakeasies in the heart of Kakaako. Craft cocktail enthusiasts know it as the brainchild of mixologist Christian Self, Bevy’s owner who still runs the bar.
Happy hour, though, is the ideal time to visit Bevy. The dimly lit, industrial-meets-vintage spot serves up delicious eats that match the quality of their drinks. During happy hour you can try a variety of plates and several different cocktails — including a featured cocktail of the day — without breaking the bank.
Happy hour includes:
- Oysters on the half shell for $1.50 each
- $2 off all small plates (so $7-9 each)
- $6 cocktail of the day or classic cocktails (regular price $8-10)
- $6 sparkling or Spanish wines (regular price $9-12)
- $2 off beers in a can (regular price $5-10)
Sure, you’ll have to do some math during your visit, since the small plates’ prices vary, and seafood lovers will probably have tally their oyster count. But the discounted oysters and crafted cocktails alone are worth it.

Goose Point oysters are flown in daily from Washington and normally run $4 apiece. During Happy hour, they’re just $1.50!
These mac bites ($7) are sure to make any cheese lover melt. Be sure to ask for a extra bucket of their addictive buttermilk ranch dipping sauce.

I love avocados, and Bevy’s are next level because they’re deep fried. The crunchy, panko exterior is similar to what you’d find on chicken katsu, and the Mexican slaw is refreshing, creamy and spicy all at once. Avocado fiends: you’ll want to get two of these.
Drinks
During happy hour, you can choose from 12 classic cocktails for the $6 price point. For $6 each, these are a steal — classic cocktails at other bars usually cost at least upwards of $10. The featured cocktail of the day is also $6, and you can find out what’s being served that day on Bevy’s Instagram account.
