1234582_595279953899612_12433706_nThe first Out of the Office (#OOTO) co-working event has been planned for Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Our Kaka‘ako. Business people, entrepreneurs and others can bring their laptops and mobile devices to co-office and test out the neighborhood’s robust new free public Wi-Fi network. With 5x faster download speeds and 50x faster upload speeds, it’s a chance to zip through your work while mingling and experiencing a new, shared work setting.

As part of the event, the Pinch of Salt warehouse on Auahi Street (behind Starbucks on Ala Moana Boulevard) will be outfitted with creative and comfortable individual work spaces, quiet zones, community spaces and a “playground area” (with TVs, foosball and team-building games) for creative stimulation. As a bonus, Chef Mark Noguchi and Pili Group will serve up lunch, treats, coffee, tea, lemonade and smoothies.

Street parking is available, along with limited parking at the former CompUSA lot. After #OOTO, the pau hana party moves to Bevy, up the street.
