The Duke's OceanFest ocean sports festival was held at Kuhio Beach from August 16-24. The festival featured surfing, paddling, swimming, lifeguarding, water polo and more.

On Sunday, July 13, the Coconut Chase 8K raised money to support Hawaii charities. Racers wore hula skirts and coconut bras to the event at Kakaako Waterfront Park.
The Hawaii Korean Chamber of Commerce’s annual Korean Festival promoted the Korean culture through food and live entertainment at Ala Moana Beach Park.
