Reyse Sakima, from Honolulu, brought home the gold for Team Hawaii in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 7:42:55. He also competed in a preliminary heat for the 3,00 meter run at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games in New Jersey.

All four Hawaii swimmers took home medals on Tuesday, June 17 at this year’s Special Olympics 2014 USA Games in New Jersey. The swimming competition was held at the Princeton University DeNunzio Pool.

Team Hawaii, also known as Hui O Hawaii earned a total of 11 medals during day two of competition at the Special Olympics USA Games in New Jersey. They included four gold medals and one bronze in swimming, one gold medal and one silver in track and field and four silver medals for men’s and women’s bocce.
