Since Day One, Ron DeGuzman has brought a sense of familiarity to the menu at the quirky Stage Restaurant in the Honolulu Design Center. A graduate of Pearl City High School and Leeward Community College’s culinary program, he’s worked in the kitchens of Alan Wong and Jon Matsubara before becoming the executive chef of Stage, where it’s his kitchen now. The soft-spoken chef is a quiet powerhouse known for creating a mix of worldly prix fixe dinners, which earned him a 2021 Hale ‘Aina Silver award, along with comforting classics beef wellington and crispy skin salmon that anyone can rely on.
