Bay Area hip-hop: Hopie Spitshard
Bay Area hip-hop emcee Hopie Spitshard gave a special performance Saturday night at Blue Ocean Thai. The female rapper performed three songs off her new album “Dulce Vita,” which was released 10 days before the scheduled date.
Despite her petite size, Hopie got the crowd’s attention by making everyone feel her music and showing that women can lyrically spit hard as well. You can find one my favorite tracks by her here.
DJ Snayk Eyez bumped the speakers with a few classic hip-hop tunes that got the crowd going, while Hawaii hip-hop artists Audible Lab Rats, Prie Falaniko, Ill Hill Society and Prolific Unknowns also shared the stage.
