Art & Flea: no ordinary market
Art and Flea is an event held on a Thursday each month at Fresh Café. An event full of creativity, local artists and designers gather at one spot to share their creations with others. We checked out what the buzz was about and found out why this is the place to be. If you want to find a one-of-a-kind item or a vintage item that brings you to them throwback days, you will definitely find it here.
This event was created by three lovely ladies: Aly Ishikuni, Nicole Franco and Tiffany Tanaka. The ladies felt that there was a need to help local artists and designers. With the Art & Flea event, this helps local artists and designers start or broaden their business platforms. “Our goal is to create an outlet for local vendors and artists to grow their business as well as sell their creations and collections with limited overhead,” said Franco. “We wanted to put a fresh spin of your typical flea market providing a place where shoppers can be sure to find something hip and unique.”
It was a hip event with music provided by KTUH. If you missed out, be sure to catch the next Art & Fleas on Oct. 28, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.

It was amazing talking to each artist and fashion entrepreneur. They all had their own story on how they got started and what inspired them for their line or music. Keep a look out for a new series that I will be doing, featuring local artists and designers.
