Down to Earth has revolutionized Hawaii’s grocery store scene. The local business has been selling affordable organic and natural products across Hawaii for more than 40 years, but DTE’s newer stores have gone bigger with more gourmet and glam. Down to Earth Pearlridge, opened last December, is the chain’s first standalone store on Oahu. Down to Earth Kakaako opened just months earlier. If you haven’t been, think Whole Food Market Queen, but with local flair.

For example, you’ll find tons more than groceries at the newer DTE stores. Picture an extensive hot bar, salad bar, bakery and deli section. An all-vegetarian food selection includes fresh-baked pizzas, sushi with tofu substitutes, housemade veggie burgers, fresh Mex burritos, Mediterranean paninis and more. Want something refreshing? Treat yourself to a superfruit bowl or nutrient-rich smoothie.
