With 100 bike stations and 1,000 bikes from Downtown to Diamond Head, Biki Bike is celebrating its first birthday! Managed by the non-profit Bikeshare Hawaii, Biki’s purpose is to bring residents and visitors an affordable, safe and healthy transportation option.
In honor of the event, Biki is holding a first birthday party at Honolulu Hale this Thursday, June 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. and you’re invited! Their team will be serving cake, resfeshments and handing out Biki swag. Plus, they’re giving three lucky Frolic readers one-month memberships! See below for details.
Before you RSVP and enter the contest, here are the Top 10 things you need to know about Biki:
No. 1: Memberships start at just $15 a month
The $15 a month plan gives you an unlimited number of 30-minute trips.
No. 2: You can take advantage of the Employee Discount
Encourage your workplace to enroll in the employer plan so you and your coworkers can save 10 percent on the $15 Monthly Membership.
No. 3: Biki is expanding its stops
Don’t have a Biki bike stop near you? You’re in luck! This summer 30-40 new stops in are coming to areas such as UH Manoa, Diamond Head and Iwilei.
No. 4: Easily unlock a bike using Biki Pass
You don’t have to use the app or your credit card to unlock a bike. With the Biki Pass, all you have to do is insert your card. Sign up on gobiki.org to get a Biki Pass in the mail.
No. 5: There’s a Biki app
It makes locating a bike and monitoring your ride easy.
No. 6: Biki is awesome during busy events
Beat event traffic and overflowing parking lots. On special occasions like events and holidays, Biki sets up valet stations to accommodate more riders and make sure there are enough bikes available.
Pro tip: Use Biki to navigate Waikiki during 4th of July. Biki Stop #244 (Ala Moana) will have a Biki Valet. The Biki Crew will be avaiable to provide assistance and make sure there are extra bikes and docking points available so you can watch the 4th of July Firework show without any hassle.

No. 7: Biki is one of the top 10 bike share systems in the country
The National Association of City Transportation Officials says Biki is the eighth most heavily used bike share system in the U.S. as of 2017.
No. 8: Biki is a community-based nonprofit organization
