Biggest-ever Localicious eating drive kicks off March 1

Order local dishes at more than 260 restaurants and support ag programs in public schools

Supporting local never tasted so good.

The fifth annual Localicious Hawaii — the monthlong campaign to raise funds for agricultural education and recognize restaurants that buy local — kicks off today. With a record-breaking 262 restaurants participating statewide, 2018 marks Localicious’ biggest year yet.

Here’s how it works. Every time you go out and order a Localicious dish, made with locally raised or grown products, the restaurant donates $1 toward ag education in public schools. The dishes are identified on menus with a Localicious sticker or logo. The newly launched Kynbo app can help you find Localicious restaurants and dishes.

Top Localicious restaurants last year were: 

• This year’s goal is to raise $50,000, the same amount raised in March 2017
• Altogether, the campaign has raised $170,000 since it started in 2014 
• Funds raised will go toward all Hawaii Agricultural Foundation programs including Veggie U, Where Would We Be Without Seeds, AquaPono Aquaponics, Kids Cooking Local and In The Fields
• Free Aloha-mojis are still available in the App Store
