• L'ulu:  Leeward's Culinary Gala
HONOLULU Magazine is proud to be a sponsor of L’ulu: Leeward’s Culinary Gala, a benefit for LCC's Culinary Arts Program. Each year, the school will honor a Hawaii Regional Cuisine chef, creating a HRC Wall of Fame.  This year's honoree will be Roy Yamaguchi. 
 
On May 10, from 6 to 9 p.m., guests will indulge their senses with the delectable cuisines of some of Hawaii’s finest chefs alongside the Culinary Arts Program’s instructors and students.  Exceptional entertainment and a silent auction, complimented with an array of wines, beers, spirits and specialty coffees and teas complete the festive atmosphere and extraordinary ambiance of dining amid the Culinary Arts Program's new dinging room (The Pearl) and kitchen facilities.  For a list of participating restaurants and more information, click here.  Tickets are $100 if ordered before May 1st, or $125 after.  Contact Tommylynn Benavente at the Leeward Community College at 455-0298 or e-mail tlbenave@hawaii.edu.

• Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF)
HONOLULU has been a long time supporter of HIFF, and sponsor of the Fall Festival’s Best Short Film award since 2005.  HIFF is an organization providing Hawaii with the best selection of current international, artistic and independent films, with a mission of promoting a cultural understanding of the East and West through the art of cinema.  HIFF is currently planning their 11th Annual Spring Showcase from April 18 to 24, 2008.  Film synopses and schedules along with more information about HIFF can be found at www.hiff.org.

• ARTafterDARK

 • Chinatown Chase – Red Light, Red Carpet
HONOLULU was proud to be a sponsor of the 2008 Chinatown Chase, a fundraiser for the Hawaii Theatre Center on January 26, 2008.  Teams of 10 raced through Chinatown and the Arts & Culture District in search of clues and to be the first team to the finish line.  For more information on the event, visit www.chinatownchase.com.

• Oahu Dines
A fundraiser for the Life Foundation. Various restaurants on Oahu provided good food for a great cause on February 27, 2008. Participating restaurants donated a percentage of their proceeds earned during the day to the Life Foundation to aid their work in fighting AIDS in Hawaii and the Pacific.
