Summer movies on Waikīkī Beach are back! The series kicks off this weekend with a screening of Zootopia 2. Bring your beach chair, find a spot on the sand and enjoy pre-show live music, games and photo ops. You’ll also want to mark your calendar for more summer movie magic: Wicked: For Good (July 3), Smurfs (July 25), A Minecraft Movie (Aug. 29) and The Bad Guys 2 (Sept. 26).

Divine Disruption: The Art of Tsherin Sherpa

Be inspired by the colorful pieces of this solo exhibition showcasing the work of acclaimed Nepalese artist Tsherin Sherpa. The exhibit recontextualizes traditional Himalayan Buddhist art with a contemporary twist, exploring 21st century social issues. Hear from Sherpa himself on May 30 at 2 p.m. when he’ll host a free art talk (register for tickets here).

Timely as we enter Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, this new play from local playwright Diane Aoki explores the impact of memory loss, family connection and culture. The deeply personal story blends heart, humor and authenticity. To dive deeper, join Kumu Kahua’s Book Club on June 1 to discuss The Girl with the White Flag by Tomiko Higa—a book with similar themes as the play.
