You don’t need a reason to dress up and sip rosé, but we’re giving you one anyway. HONOLULU Magazine is taking over the Ward Village IBM Building for our second-ever Rosé Soirée presented by Alaska Mileage Plan, where you can get on cloud wine with unlimited glasses of rosé plus bites by chef Jon Matsubara from Feast, Pai Honolulu, 12th Ave Grill and more. A portion of proceeds from Rosé Soirée will be donated to Ho‘ōla Nā Pua, a nonprofit committed to the renewal of trafficked girls through health, education, advocacy and reintegration. Here are seven tips you should know before you head over to our premier pink drink party this Saturday, Oct. 12.

1.  Bring your appetite.

  • Five of your favorite local chefs will be serving the perfect dishes to pair with your sips. Here is the list.

  • Smoked Hawaiian opah with wasabi arugula by Feast by Jon Matsubara.

  • Citrus-cured wild king salmon mousse and yuzu-marinated ikura on a sourdough baguette by Pai Honolulu.

  • 21-day aged duck breast, lentils du Puy, endive and orange by La Vie.

  • Mini smoked ‘ahi tuna melt with three-cheese fondue topped with local radish sprouts by 12th Ave Grill.

  • For the VIP section: ‘ahi brioche by Senia.

2. Go ahead, wear those stilettos.

Ladies know: Grass and heels don’t make a great combo. Thankfully, the IBM courtyard is paved, so don your favorite pair and strut with confidence.

3. Leave the umbrella at home.

The venue is covered, so don’t worry about those unpredictable October showers. We won’t let rain ruin your makeup, outfit or good time.

4. Head for the bubbly first.

The sparkling rosé was first to run out last year. Just in case, when you get there snag a glass of bubbly first. Then cheers, drink and go back for a refill.

5. Go VIP.

Why? A few reasons: You’ll get to wine down starting from 5:30 p.m., one hour before general admission; you’ll have first dibs on all food and drink; and you’ll have exclusive access to an air-conditioned lounge, where the award-winning restaurant Senia will be serving up ‘ahi brioche just for VIP ticket holders.

6. Find Heaven on Earth.

When you’re ready for a break, head over to the pampering station for a round of massages and mini manicures by Heaven on Earth Salon and Day Spa.

7. Do a good deed.

Last year, Ho‘ōla Nā Pua reached 26,300 people and mentored more than 100 youth. Support this great organization with a simple donation of supplies at the event. Here are some ideas:

  • Composition notebooks

  • Construction paper

  • Printer paper

  • Scrapbooking paper

  • Cardstock

  • Gel pens

  • Nontoxic paint

  • Nontoxic pens

  • Nontoxic glue sticks

  • Paper towels

  • Coconut oil

  • Grocery store gift cards

HONOLULU Magazine’s Rosé Soirée presented by Alaska Mileage Plan takes place Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Ward Village IBM Building, 1240 Ala Moana Blvd., 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Buy tickets here.
