Wine or beer? Here’s a course-by-course rivalry – a no-holds-barred match where the two battle it out!

 

On June 27th, Prince Waikiki’s 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar is excited to present the inaugural Barley & Vine, a four course dinner created by Executive Sous Chef Aaron Furuto where each course is thoughtfully paired with a beer and wine.  Guests will then vote on whether they prefer the beer or the wine pairing for each course.  It will be a fun-filled event with mouth-watering courses and thirst-quenching pairings!

 

Pairings for Barley & Vine were curated with Brewmaster Jeff Liles from Aloha Beer and Sommelier Adam LaCagnina.

 

Menu + Pairings:

 

Garden Vegetable Melange

aquaponic greens, pomegranate and lilikoi vinaigrette

Pairings- Wine: Lanson Brut Pere and Fils  | Beer:  Aloha Beer Mellow Waves

 

Maine Scallops

seared u-10 scallops, lomi tomato, ogo, miso butter emulsion

Pairings- Wine: Sanford Chardonnay | Beer: Aloha Beer Queen Street Pils

 

American Wagyu Ribeye

farm vegetables, charred miso eggplant puree, bordelaise

Pairings- Wine: McPrice Myers Cabernet Sauvignon Bull Horn 20  | Beer: Aloha Beer Red Zeppelin IPA

 

Chocolate Profiteroles

vanilla creme fraiche, grand marnier, cacao nibs

Pairings- Wine: Braida Brachetto D’acqui 21  | Beer: Aloha Beer Black Pils
