Who’s coming: Eat the Street May
Friday’s Eat the Street food truck rally celebrates summer, and features 33 trucks and street food vendors, including 10 newcomers. A few making their debut — including Achilles Grill (Thai food) and Tiki Truck (fusion tacos, sloppy joes, “stanky” corn) — are brand new to the city’s food truck scene, which means it’s going to be a fun, exciting night to try Honolulu’s newest, and most sought-after, trucks.
To coincide with the “celebrate summer” theme, Momsinhawaii.com will host the Kids Summertime Zone, featuring face painting, balloon art, a farm truck, a Yummy Tummy Kids’ Food Truck (exclusive to this event) and Alaka’i Party Rental Bounce. Yet, while more keiki will be roaming the grounds, Eat the Street will continue with its hip vibe, with Lightsleepers live art, live local music provided by Eia Ka Manawa Records and DJ Mr. Nick in the house.
Nonstop Honolulu and Foodspotting.com also have teamed up to hold a first-time scavenger hunt at Eat the Street, with various prizes given out to five winners.
