Who’s coming: Eat the Street Garlic
Friday’s Eat the Street focuses on the pungent bulb we especially love here in Hawaii. That’s right, this month’s food truck rally will be all about garlic, with 33 vendors lined up to serve up delectably garlicky dishes.
Some dishes that caught our attention: Baja Style Mexican Food’s whole baby squid in a “Mojo de Ajo” garlic sauce; Shogunai Tacos’ I Dream of Garlic Taco; Tiki Truck’s “Sloppy Enchilads with Grrrlicky Cheese”; Fairycakes garlic cheesecake truffles and Lickety Split’s garlic chocolate dip.
Along with these intriguing creations, five trucks or vendors are making their ETS debut, including the beloved Tats Shaved Ice; brand-new vendor Beyond Burgers; Hawaii’s Fried Musubi (get the fried chicken); Wear to Go, which will be serving malasadas and fresh-roasted Waialua Coffee; and Na ‘Ono, which already has a farmers’ market following for its roasted Kahuku corn.
So come try the eats, and don’t forget your mints.
