Which brewpubs and gastropubs have reopened for dine-in?

Has your favorite local brewpub or gastropub reopened with food and drink you can enjoy on the spot? Here are status updates on local breweries and how you can support local craft beer and jobs. Please note that given these challenging times, openings and hours are subject to change.

Aloha Beer Co.

Open for dine-in? Yes
Hours: Monday through Thursday 4 to 9 p.m., Friday 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.

Aloha Beer Co. in Kakaako has their full selection of draft beer, including the debut of a new red lager called Kashmir, while food options are limited to pizza and salads. Their beer garden is open-air with socially distanced tables. Be sure to check out the recently completed mural by local artist Bethany Georges (@bgeorgesart). There’s also online ordering and walk-up service for takeout food and canned beer. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon, swing by for coffee and espresso alfresco by Ruby Violet Coffee (@rubyvioletcoffee).

Beer Lab Hawaii

Open for dine-in? Yes
Hours: University location Monday to Saturday 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Waipio Monday to Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m., Sunday noon to 7 p.m.; Pearlridge Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Beer Lab Hawaii’s three locations are currently open for dine-in service, including the brand-new Pearlridge restaurant. Be sure to try their house-cured meats and house-fermented vegetables. All beer selections are available for consumption on-site and in crowlers to go. There’s an online reservation system to order takeout; simply select what you want and pick it up at the notified time. All crowlers are buy one, get one 50% off. Every Thursday Beer Lab announces a limited beer selection for 4-pack can release on Friday; these sell out in a few hours so reserve yours quickly!

Broken Boundary Brewery

Open for dine-in? No date yet, takeout only
Hours: Tuesday through Sunday noon to 7 p.m.

Located inside the Homebrew in Paradise supply store in Kalihi, Broken Boundary is currently open for takeout only. Growler fills (provide your own) are on special: Buy one, get one free. Beers are also available for crowler fills on order.

Hana Koa Brewing Co.

Hours: Thursday through Saturday 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hana Koa Brewing Co. in Kakaako has been offering beer to go including a steady stream of limited can releases throughout the shutdown. The entire food menu and beer selections is available for dine-in service. Online ordering for takeout is still available — simply pick up your order at the bar or ask for it to be brought to your car.

Honolulu Beerworks

Honolulu Beerworks is open with a full menu of dine-in food and beers, but will also continue their Brew-Thru service with online ordering and payment and curbside pickup of beer, merchandise and food kits.

Inu Island Ales

Hours: Wednesday and Thursday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 7 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5pm.

Inu Island Ales in Kaneohe sells their beer exclusively through crowler fills. Normally their high-alcohol stouts are only available to sample on premises, but these can now be purchased to go. Inu maintains a steady selection of mostly Hazy IPAs featuring different hop varieties, Sours with local tropical fruits, and Stouts often with sweet additions.

Lanikai Brewing Co.

Tap & Barrel by Lanikai Brewing Co. has reopened for dine-in service with Valentina’s Pizza pies (@valentinaspizzakailua) made to order in a brick oven and delivered to your table. Draft selections of beer and hard seltzer, and bottled selections like Lanikai’s line of Hawaiian Wild Ales are available for onsite or to-go consumption. The restaurant offers socially distanced tables for parties of five or fewer. Also look for their core and limited beer releases at various bottle shops and grocery stores around the island.

Maui Brewing Co.

Hours: Wednesday to Friday 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with happy hour daily 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

While Maui Brewing’s Waikiki location remains closed pending the reopening of the Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, the Kailua restaurant has reopened for food and beer.

Olomana Brewing Co.

Olomana Brewing Co., inside Three Peaks Gifts in Kailua, makes small-batch beer and hard kombucha and offers other local breweries’ selections on draft. They encourage growler fills to make it easier to buy beer without leaving the Windward side. They also fill their own cans with any selection. Food offerings include meat pies, appetizers and Agostino’s Pizza on Saturdays.

Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing Co.

Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing Co. in Chinatown will be making their own beer soon, but currently has a large draft beer selection from local and national breweries. They offer growler and crowler fills at the door. Order at the bar or in advance online for pickup. A notable feature is Stewbum’s beer delivery — you order and pay online and your crowlers will be at your door in a few hours.

Waikiki Brewing’s original location in Waikiki is still closed, but their Kakaako brewery and restaurant is open for dine-in service. Football fans can watch live games since they open at 7 a.m. on Sundays with Bloody Marys, mimosas and brunch specials (also available Saturdays). If you’re on Maui, check out their new brewpub in Lahaina with $5 core beers, $10 pizzas and $12 growler fills during daily happy hour.

Kohola Brewery and Maui Brewing Co. on Maui, and Ola Brew Co., Big Island Brewhaus and Hilo Brewing Co. on the Big Island, all continue to brew and package their beer. Look for these local cans and bottles on shelves in grocery and convenience stores around Oahu.
