Who among us belongs beside such celebrated watermen and waterwomen as Eddie Aikau, Rabbit Kekai and Rell Sunn? If you've got names, the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation wants to hear them.
The foundation is accepting its 2014 nominations for the Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame, which honors members of Hawaii's water-sports community whose lifetimes of contributions have inspired and perpetuated the unique connection and love between kamaaina and the sea. Nominations are due by May 30.
An awards dinner will be held at the Outrigger Canoe Club Aug. 21. For complete information on nominating a candidate, go to DukeFoundation.org.
