Todd Snyder, Ellery, AULA, Lie SANGBONG and Kaypee Soh: Come See These High-Fashion International Brands at HONOLULU Fashion Week

The Runway to Runway Fashion Show lifts off Nov. 21.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please. Due to some turbulence, the captain has turned on the fashionable-seat-belt sign, so please take your chic.

No, it’s got nothing to do with the weather, ma’am. What’s rocking our plane is the storm of top-caliber designers that are on a direct flight to HONOLULU Fashion Week. Your fashion-loving heart is going to really soar when you check out the collections from these national and international bigwigs at Hawaiian Airlines’ Runway to Runway fashion show, happening on Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. The theme is all about making connections, so the team is bringing in some of the most well-known names in style from major destinations on the Hawaiian Airlines route. Talk about first-class travel, right?

The fleet includes Korea-based Lie Sang Bong, known for his imaginative, fantastical designs (left) and downright-gorgeous gowns (in his eponymous brand Lie SANBGONG). Think ethereal, airy textures and a stunning attention to detail and structure.

Jetting in from Australia is artist-turned-designer Kym Ellery of Ellery. With a love of the avant-garde and a background in ceramics, textile art and printmaking, Ellery’s pieces boast retro-modern silhouettes, architectural tailoring and signature flared sleeves (middle): a look that marries cool and classic to perfection.

Kaypee Soh needs no introduction. A local star in the world of cheery, tropical textile and home-goods design, Soh is reaching for the sky and taking his unmatched eye for style into the world of women’s ready-to-wear apparel (right) and accessories such as leather bags, as well as expanded home goods.

Yukimi Kawashima of AULA is taking a westbound flight from Japan with her cache of feminine pieces with bold cuts and blocked colors (left). Kawashima’s heart has been set on designing since she was in middle school, and she’s worked as a pattern maker and participated in Tokyo Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.

Todd Snyder’s fly résumé includes stints for Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap and J.Crew, in addition to his own menswear collection, which is carried at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. His selection of essentials includes contemporary updates on indispensable classics, such as the suit, sweatshirt (right) and jeans.

Now that’s some baggage we wouldn’t mind claiming.
