These Two Coworking Spaces on O‘ahu Are Serious Office Goals
When your coworking needs are above and beyond those of what a typical coffee shop can offer, here are two options, in Honolulu and Kailua.

‘Awa and ‘Ai Bar featuring local snacks and lunch foods; library of Hawaiian resources and games; IT equipment for rent; comfy giant pillows on the “lawn” in the center of the space; “pods” that can be reconfigured around the perimeter; video monitors; large windows that bring in lots of natural light; a private meeting area called the Vault, which can be rented for events and meetings.
Vibe
When you walk in, you’re expected to remove your shoes. Maps of old Hawai‘i, the resource library and the food all evoke a cultural community focus. It’s very chill and spacious at 5,000 square feet.

Pods all feature outlets; extension towers are available for rent if you need power to work on the lawn. Thursday through Saturday, Waiwai hosts ‘awa nights from 6 to 11 p.m., which features live music. There are no private office spaces, but areas for large groups can be reserved.
Treehouse
Treehouse’s conference room offers videoconferencing with up to 99 participants.

Vibe
Natural light, greenery and art make the space feel very homey, especially on misty Kailua mornings. Hardly anyone else was around when we worked there so it felt like working from home, but with fewer distractions.

The “social membership” is the best deal for those who just need the space a few days a month. For $35, you get two coworking days; each additional day is $15. Private office spaces are available to rent upstairs. Every third Friday, Treehouse hosts an art event and displays an artist’s work, available for purchase, for a month.
