The Bread Man's butter rolls

Ever since "The Bread Man" chased us down at Maunakea Marketplace during a photo shoot, the office has been addicted to his bread rolls, which always taste like they've just come out of the oven, with warm, slightly caramelized crunchy crusts basted with butter, giving way to soft, fluffy layers. They remind me of pull-apart butter flake rolls, or Nanding Bakery's famous Spanish bread, but shaped like cinnamon rolls.

And ever since he started selling them downtown as well, from a space shared with Thai Hana, a dozen of these butter rolls seem to be in the office every week. There are other flavors, including pineapple and cinnamon, but plain is our favorite.
