Thank a Hawaii Teacher for National Teacher Appreciation Week
Everyone has a favorite teacher, and this year you can take a moment to thank them on Twitter during National Teacher Appreciation Week, starting in May. Just tag @honolulumag and #thankateacher, and we'll honor the men and women that left the greatest impressions on you during your most formative years by posting your tweets on this page.

"One of my favorite teachers made me into an angry cookie, a drug dealer, a four leaf clover and a cougar. Mrs. Yvonne Toma was the dedicated and much beloved Gifted & Talented teacher at Kipapa Elementary School for years. She taught us to stretch our minds academically, but also guided us through creating original character-building musicals that we performed every year at various schools.
