TEDx Honolulu 2016

The topic of this year’s TEDx Honolulu, a local, self-organized event that, like the official TED Talks, aims to bring the community together over ideas worth sharing, was FLOW. Talks by notables including local artist Solomon Enos, master procrastinator Tim Urban, surf photographer Chris Burkard, and Dr. Bryan Caldwell who works with NASA on training astronauts for deep space and extraterrestrial missions, addressed the topic from a variety of perspectives both artistic and scientific.
Unfortunately one of the more anticipated speakers, local columnist, DJ, project director and socialite Christa Wittmier, who has been battling breast cancer, was unable to attend, instead delivering her talk by video.
The talks were supplemented by creative gaming and crafts tables, sustainable living booths, live music performances and a closing dance/aerial/acrobatic yoga performance.
