Submit Your Hawai‘i Ghost Story for a Chance to be Featured

We’re giving away great prizes to the top three ghost story contest winners.

Can you tell a spooky ghost story that’ll give folks chicken skin? Whether you’re a good storyteller that can make up haunting tales around the campfire or tell creepy stories of encountering the faceless lady in real life, we want your ghost stories!

Submit a story between 500 and 1,000 words. Make sure your submission includes the required details on the entry form below. The winners will be published on honolulumagazine.com. Prizes will be given to first, second and third place winners.

Prizes

1st Place: $150 gift certificate to Ruth’s Chris Steak House
2nd Place: $50 gift certificate to Dave & Buster’s and two tickets to Wet 'N' Wild Hawai‘i
3rd Place: $20 gift certificate to Dave & Buster’s

Rules

The contest is open to Hawai‘i residents only. aio Media Group, contributors and their immediate family members are not eligible. The story must be original, unpublished work by the author that involves any paranormal activity or supernatural theme in Hawai‘i. By submitting your entry, you certify that you own the right to submit the text. You may submit a photo if you want. You grant HONOLULU Magazine the royalty-free license to publish the story in print and online. We reserve the right to edit for grammar, spelling, clarity and formatting. One entry per person.

Important dates

The deadline is the stroke of midnight when October 22nd turns into the 23rd. Bwo-ha-ha! The HONOLULU Magazine editors will review and judge the entries. We will announce the winners on Monday, Oct. 30.
