St. Patrick's Day alternatives in Honolulu

I'm sure you know where to go for your Black and Tans, Irish car bombs and corned beef and cabbage.
But if you're looking for an alternative to booze-soaked block parties and green beer, here are two options:
-
Stay home and make yourself a Tipperary, a cocktail named after a town in Southern Ireland. Our cocktail writer, Randy Wong, says "The Tipperary has a complex herbal quality from the Chartreuse that is smoothed by the Carpano Antica, a sweet Italian vermouth. The Irish whiskey gives this cocktail a fervent call to arms. While you may never see France, Italy, and Ireland on the same team, in the Tipperary they're a winning combination."
2 oz Irish whiskey
3/4 oz Carpano Antica
1/2 oz Green Chartreuse
Shake with ice, double strain and serve up.

Maybe it's all the green, or you want to join Justin Timberlake (aka the sexiest dancing tofu block you've ever seen) in Veganville. Then sign up for Leslie Ashburn's Go Green cooking demo, in which she'll teach you plant-based and gluten-free recipes such as green juice, curried kale with coconut, lentil stew with greens, and pumpkin seed pesto. In the new Cookspace.
